Domains

Domains play a crucial role in web hosting, serving as the primary address through which users access websites on the internet. In this article, we'll explore the importance of domains in web hosting, how they work, and what you need to know about bringing your own domain to ScarceHost's hosting services.

What is a Domain?

A domain is a human-readable address that represents the unique location of a website on the internet. It consists of two main parts: the domain name (e.g. example) and the top-level domain (TLD) (e.g. .com, .net, .org). Together, these components form a unique identifier (e.g. example.com) that directs users to a specific website.

The Importance of Domains in Web Hosting

Domains serve as the gateway to your online presence, allowing users to find and access your website easily. They provide a memorable and recognizable address that users can type into their web browsers to visit your site. Additionally, domains help establish credibility and professionalism, as they often reflect the name or brand of your business or organization.

Domains (or subdomains) are required for web hosting. You must have provide the domain name when you create your hosting service.
